Bergamot is a household staple oil for so many things! The crisp, citrusy aroma is uplifting and harmonizing, and it makes a wonderful addition to DIYs and diffuser blends. This oil is one we love to have around! Here are some of our favorite ways to use this crisp citrus oil.

image ROLLER RECIPES Bergamot is a wonderful addition to any roller blend, and it pairs well with other citrus notes as well as herbal scents like Lavender and Rosemary!

  • Happy Heart roller for daily cardiovascular support:
    • 10mL roller bottle
    • 20 drops Bergamot
    • 15 drops each Lavender, Cypress, Rosemary
    • Carrier of choice
  • Cologne Roller:
  • 10mL roller bottle
  • 15 drops Bergamot, Valor
  • 10 drops Northern Lights Black Spruce
  • Carrier of choice
  • Keep Calm roller for emotional support
    • 10mL roller bottle
    • 10 drops each Valor, Frankincense, Stress Away, Bergamot
    • Fill with carrier

BEAUTY RECIPES Bergamot is a citrus oil so it can help diminish oil and breakouts on the skin, purifying and cleansing the skin. It pairs well with nourishing oils like Frankincense and Sandalwood for skincare.

  • 2 oz dropper bottle
  • 10 each drops Frankincense, Sandalwood, Bergamot
  • Carrier of choice

DIY After Shave Balm

  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 1 cup shea butter
  • 20-30 drops total essential oils (Bergamot, Grapefruit, Ylang ylang)
  • In a small pot, combine coconut oil and shea butter on medium heat. Once melted, remove from heat and add essential oils. Mix well.
  • Let cool in the fridge for 30–45 minutes or until the mixture is no longer clear. It should have a soft texture. Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, whip the product for about 2–3 minutes or until it looks like foam and forms peaks. Store in a glass jar at room temperature.

DIY Natural Deodorant Try a simple natural deodorant with equal parts Patchouli and Bergamot plus carrier in a 30mL roller bottle.

DIY Bath Jellies

  • Add some jiggly fun to your bathtime with this simple DIY!
  • Natural food coloring
  • 10-15 drops essential oils (Bergamot, Orange, Lavender)
  • Silicone mold
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened, unflavored gelatin
  • ¾ cup distilled water
  • ½ cup YL Bath & Shower Gel Base
  • Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle
  • Mix the water and gelatin in a heat-safe bowl or pot and bring to a boil. Add the liquid soap and stir until incorporated. Add 1-2 drops of natural coloring and essential oil.Pour the mixture into silicone molds. If bubbles form on the top of the liquid, spray with isopropyl alcohol to smooth the surface. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
  • Add water and lather up! Store jellies in the refrigerator when not in use to prevent them from melting and losing their shape

HOUSEHOLD RECIPES WITH BERGAMOT Bergamot is a great addition to your household and cleaning DIYs! It will add a little spicy citrus twist and is a favorite for adding to Thieves Household Cleaner.

image Mattress & Upholstery Spray

  • 8oz glass spray bottle
  • 1 tsp Thieves Household Cleaner
  • 10 drops each Lavender, Eucalyptus Radiata, Tea Tree, Bergamot essential oils
  • Filtered or distilled water
Add essential oils and Thieves Household Cleaner to the spray bottle, then gently fill with water, leaving room to add the spray top. Spray as desired!

Carpet Purifying Powder

  • 4 oz glass jar
  • 1 cup Baking Soda
  • ½ cup fine sea salt
  • 10 drops each Lemon, Bergamot essential oils
Add baking soda and salt to a jar, and mix well. Add essential oils, stir, then place the top on the jar and shake well. Optional: use a small knife or drill to make small holes in the top of the jar. Sprinkle onto carpets and let sit 10-15 minutes before vacuuming!

Spring Breeze All-Purpose Cleaner Use as you would any cleaner - counters, mirrors, kitchens, the whole house!

  • 16 oz glass spray bottle
  • 1-2 capfuls Thieves Household Cleaner
  • Fill with filtered water
  • 25 drops Bergamot
  • 15 drops each Lemon, Tangerine, Lime

Cleaning fizzies (great for commodes!)

  • 1 cup Baking Soda
  • ½ cup Citric acid
  • ½ cup Cornstarch
  • 4 teaspoons water
  • 20 drops each Lemon, Bergamot
  • Optional 10 drops Purification
  • 3 teaspoons V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex or other carrier
  • Ice cube tray or candy mold
    • Step 1) In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients and mix evenly.
    • Step 2) In a separate bowl, combine water, essential oils or blends, and V-6.
    • Step 3) Pour liquids into the large bowl and mix together until combined.
    • Step 4) Use the mixture to fill an ice cube tray or candy mold about three fourths full. If the mixture expands and spills over the mold, gently repack into the mold.
    • Step 5) Let sit overnight to dry in a room temperature area. When dry, pop tablets out and store in a glass jar.
  • To Use: When needed, put a tablet in the toilet bowl, hard-to-clean bottles, or sink full of dishes to help clean and deodorize. Let sit in the bowl, bottle, or sink for 20–30 minutes to fizz and dissolve. Once dissolved, flush or rinse out.

Herbal Deodorizing Spray This one is great for pet beds, upholstered surfaces, car upholstery, etc!

  • To a 4oz glass spray bottle add:
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • 15 drops each Bergamot, Lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops Tangerine essential oil
  • Pinch sea salt or splash of witch hazel
  • Filtered water
  • Spray lightly onto surfaces to remove unwanted odors.
