Evergreen Essence is by far one of our favorite oil blends. It creates a cozy, welcoming environment when diffused, adds an incredible layer of immune support to our wellness rollers and winter health habits, and it is lovely when used with calming oils during a bath or at bedtime! This is one oil blend we love to have on hand during the winter months -- and all year long!

EVERGREEN ESSENCE & THE IMMUNE SYSTEM Most of the tree oils have a long history of use as a construction material due to their durability and stability. The oils can be steam distilled from the branches, wood, needles, bark or leaves of the plant to produce an incredible essential oil!

Tree oils in general are wonderful for supporting our bodies during times of inflammation. Because they are high in alpha-pinene, they support the body's natural response to injury and stress, allowing our bodies to be soothed and to recover in the face of acute needs. This is especially true of spruce, cedar, cypress and pine oils -- all of which are in Evergreen Essence!

EVERGREEN ESSENCE & EMOTIONS Evergreen Essence is a blend of conifer (tree!) oils, all of which contain alpha-pinene, a constituent that helps the mind and body reach a calming, peaceful environment. Tree oils can be a wonderful tool for processing feelings of Unimportant, Un-nurtured or Disempowered. The Spruce and Evergreen family of oils are the ones to reach for when you feel like you are comparing yourself to others, are feeling undervalued or as though your unique voice has no place. The alternate side to feeling unimportant is Empowerment. When we can rest secure in who we are then comparison melts away and our unique blend of magic can shine!

A 2011 study in Pharmacognosy Magazine looked at the anxiolytic effects of an alcohol based pine needle extract and its ability to soothe depression in rats. Bottom line: however you approach it, pine and other conifer essential oils can be powerful health tools!

Interestingly, we are often drawn to these oils during the colder months, when we are gathering with friends and family, remembering years past, and even grieving the things we have lost. Pine, Spruce, and Fir are calming and grounding and help us connect to feelings of strength and protection, which is something we need while processing those emotions. Adding Evergreen Essence to your daily routine is a wonderful way to support mental and emotional health during these times!

KEY INGREDIENTS

  • Fir: Evergreen Essence includes multiple variets of fir essential oil, which was traditionally used by Native Americans to promote overall health and well-being, so it's also a favorite for immune support.
  • Spruce: Spruce oils can be powerful emotional tools for releasing blocks and promoting feelings of balance. They also provite immune and respiratory support properties, which pairs amazingly well with the other tree oils in this blend.
  • Pine: Pine needles have been used in herbal medicine and folklore for centuries. Pine needles contain Vitamin A and Vitamin C, which are essential for many bodily functions, including red blood cell production, hair and nail growth, and a healthy immune system. Pine needle tea was a common folk remedy for many things! Like other tree oils, Pine is also very grounding and calming.
